So, do you want to help?

Time to get involved...

Do you want to be a part of a community that not only supports clean fiction but actively, while educating on the dangers of explicit sex scenes? Do you want to help change the culture around sexuality in books? Do you wish there was a group of like-minded people like you who love, support, and recommend clean, closed-door fiction? #ProtectCleanFiction aims to do all of that and more! Perhaps, you are wondering how to become a part of such a community. If that is you, than you are in the right place where each position available will be listed, and you can choose which position fits best for you.

#ProtectCleanFiction Positions:

Social Media Influencer:

This includes any bookstagrammer, booktoker, book blogger, or anyone that actively uses a platform to promote books. This role would include: adding #ProtectCleanFiction to your bio, agreeing to only promote books that follow the content guidelines (listed below), this will show that any book recommended by your social media page is safe for consumption. You may occasionally repost an educational thread, or post educational material given to you.

Author:

Congrats you accomplished becoming an author without #ProtectCleanFiction's help, and as an author myself, I applaud your hard work. However, becoming involved in #ProtectCleanFiction will provide some benefits: promotion for your book, a new community of book lovers looking for a book just like yours, and free help providing content guidelines for your books for your readers - especially helpful if you're an Independent author. As an #ProtectCleanFiction author you may also be interested in applying for a #ProtectCleanFiction Banner which is pretty much a "seal" that your book is fully clean. This makes it easier for readers to discern than having to go digging through reviews to make sure the cute cover isn't deceiving. To receive a Banner, you will have to fill out a separate form that I will look over to make sure it's a good fit for #ProtectCleanFiction.

Reader:

As a reader, your job is simply that, read, and leave reviews (authors really do like those.) Every agreement a reader makes to #ProtectCleanFiction is made in good faith, meaning it's up to your own consciousness to consume, and promote clean fiction in your daily life. I would strongly recommend signing the "I am a Clean Fiction Reader" Pledge, but there is no way for me, or any one else to keep you truly accountable in your reading habits. Besides just reading, and keeping good faith, a readers job is to be a book fanatic in every day life: request clean books at your local library, support clean authors through leaving reviews, buying their books, signing up for their newsletter, and overall showing there is a demand for clean fiction in the market. You don't have to be a social media guru to support authors or be a part of #ProtectCleanFiction.

#ProtectCleanFiction Ambassador:

This position is for anyone, reader, author, and social media influencer alike. Ambassador's agree to actively sharing educational material on their social media's, speaking out against smutty fiction, and taking personal initiative in changing the bookish culture. Ambassadors will be leaders in this conversation by creating new educational material, creating new posts, showing up in their communities - ie. local libraries and bookstores - and overall spreading awareness and supporting clean fiction. It's taking every job from above one step further!

CONTENT GUIDELINES:

There are three content guidelines to follow.

1. No open-door sex scenes!

This is pretty self-explanatory, but just in case. No sex scenes, explicit scenes such as these are porn.

2. No foreplay

This doesn't mean you cannot read a kiss scene, but if clothes start coming off... it's a no, even if there is no sex. Let's leave the clothes on.

3. Excessive Lust

This primarily defined by a character detailing how they are going to undress another character. Reading lust promotes lust, and, as a quick reminder, people are valuable and not objects to be lusted after, and boiled down to their body parts. This doesn't mean you cannot read a book with some lust - not that it's recommended, but #ProtectCleanFiction does not prohibit it - but excessive lust where the character cannot stop thinking inappropriate thoughts about someone else. Do yourself a favor and put it down.

Sign the Pledge Today!

Do you want to commit to only being a Clean Fiction reader? Sign the #ProtectCleanFiction pledge today! This pledge is in no way binding, but it's deeply symbolic. It symbolizes your willingness to promote, recommend, and read clean fiction. It symbolizes you are willing to fight back against a toxic, bookish culture that promotes oversexualization of not only adults, but teenagers, and in some instances, children. The hope is that it's ignites a fire for you to begin speaking up, and against smutty fiction. It's a pledge of good faith, and that it will encourage you, and remind you to pursue purity of mind in all that you read.
